Nebelthau Individual Travel is a small operator specialising in tours through Patagonia, Chile and Argentina. We have known this fascinating part of the world for many years and have very close ties. All members of our team have lived many years in South America and have travelled extensively. We can customize tours to fit your specific requirements. We can also organize trips to Uruguay, Brazil and Bolivia. .





Despite the need for an organisational framework we strive to be as flexible as possible in order to best accommodate our client's wishes. The tours described on this website are intended as proposals and we will happily alter any proposal to best fit your requirements for travelling through Patagonia, Chile and Argentina.

We travel through the beautiful and dramatic landscapes of Chile, Argentina and Patagonia either by a four-wheel drive vehicle or minibus. We only have drivers who possess boundless enthusiasm for showing you the best of this region of South America.

You will always be accompanied by an English and/or German speaking guide who is very familiar with the region and will endeavour to make your trip an unforgettable experience. On our Culture Tours you will get to know the country, its inhabitants and their traditions.

In general we try to keep daily travel times under four hours and rarely will it be necessary to spend a whole day travelling. In between there is plenty of time to relax, to enjoy the natural wilderness, to hike or ride on horseback, to visit ancient Inca sites or enjoy local festivals.

Mercedes Nebelthau:
I was born in Bremen, northern Germany on the 27th October, 1964, but part of my heart and soul is in Argentina, the country from where my mother is. Together with my three sisters, I grew up bilingual and the South Amercian mentality has always had a big influence on my life. Close ties with my family in northern Argentina and trips with my parents to the many regions of this country, has since childhood left a deep impression of the beauty of this the most southern part of the American continent. Over the years I got to know, especially in Argentina and Chile, the most remote landscapes, usually well away from the well trodden tourist paths; as well as the country, their inhabitants, customs and traditions. I've worked in the airline and travel industry for many years. After having made lots of experience in the air cargo business with airlines as well as international freight forwarding companies, I worked for Amadeus, a global travel distribution provider. Recently I decided to make my passion of travelling as my job and founded Nebelthau Individual Travel. Today I live in Munich and its proximity to the lakes and the mountains was a big factor for my move down here. So, if I'm not busy with planning, organizing or guiding a trip for our customers, I spend my time in the riding-stable, on the golf course, in the mountains going hiking or skiing or sailing on one of the lakes.




Albin Prebisch: Born in Buenos Aires, I moved with my parents and 7 brothers and sisters to Patagonia, firstly to Rio Gallegos, then Ushuaia, then San Martin de los Andes, and finally to Bariloche, where I live today. I learned to love the mountains in my very early childhood. I graduated as a national ski and snowboard instructor which enabled me to travel the world. I always managed to impress the people I met with my stories about Argentina and Patagonia. Today I own a snowboard school at Catedral ski area close to Bariloche. As a qualified rafting guide I can show our clients the beauty of Patagonia via the rivers running throughout the region




Marcos Paz: The first time I saw the light of day was on the 25th April, 1975. It was with a big smile on my face in Rawson, the capital of Chubut, which is in the centre of Patagonia. This was my birth place and I know it like the back of my hand. Come and admire the beauty of our landscape and nature! Altghough I'm only 28, I am an experienced and very safe driver, taking care of my guests on the hard but pretty roads through Patagonia, in Argentina and as well in Chile. I'm looking forward to meeting you, so that we can enjoy an unforgettable trip together allowing you to experience what I believe is the real Patagonia.
